The most treasured spot at Canoe Island
Lodge is our private island. Canoe Island was originally owned
by the American Canoe Association in the 1800’s. It has a
natural sand beach and crescent shaped cove which makes it one
of the most beautiful islands on Lake George.
Canoe Island is only three quarters of a
mile across the lake so you can take a rowboat or canoe, but
there is a shuttle from the mainland which goes at different
intervals during the day. There is a sand volleyball court at
our protected sandy beach and a quiet wooded trail along the
perimeter. Canoe Island is truly a cherished private getaway on
beautiful Lake George.
